The Sultan Bahu Dialysis Programme was established over 15 years ago, and was born out of our Founders experience of witnessing first hand the minute by minute daily struggle for survival of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease. This experience, together with our Founder’s deep empathic concern for humanity, was the catalyst for the birth of this project. For the 15 years prior to 2019, this service was outsourced to private dialysis units countrywide for those in need and who didn’t have access to the resources, be it in the public or private sector.
By the Enabling Grace of the Almighty, with more than 300 patients later, from South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria and Morocco, we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of our own Dialysis Unit at Fordsburg Clinic.
The Sabera’s Dialysis Unit is a professionally staffed unit with qualified clinical technologists, renal nurses, and a strong supporting team of doctors. We provide dialysis to those who fit the financial criteria, as well as provide affordable dialysis treatment to those who ordinarily cannot afford their own conventional treatment at private facilities while at the same time not qualifying to receive treatment in the public sector.
