Zakat al-Fitr, commonly known as ‘Fitrah’ is the compulsory charity paid by every Muslim – adult and child – before the end of Ramadaan. It is paid as early as possible, so that food can be distributed to the poor in time for Eid. It purifies one’s Ramadaan Fasts from any wrong said or did whilst Fasting.
